D3D awarded Single Party Framework agreement for the provision of service to design and develop a 3D Virtual Model of the Dublin Docklands and wider environs.
3D modelling is regarded as mapping for the future, allowing for complex drawings to be visualised as accurate mini movies. Proposed new developments can be placed into the existing mathematical model, allowing, planners / engineers, developers and the public to understand the proposal. The D3D model incorporates the 3D ground profile of the existing environment mapped to a topographical scale of 1/1000 scale topographical mapping which is linked to the national grid.The model thus provides an accurate 3D virtual world with which the Council or its agents may interact with.
